Bug Description

When installing nautilus on Hoary, gamin is not installed which results in serious delays
when trying to open folders. Console output shows nautilus trying to contact gam_server
which is in the gamin package.

My understanding is that nautilus should work fine without gamin (with slightly
reduced functionality), so it shoud not depend on it.

Yes, that's right, nautilus doesn't require gamin and should work fine without it

Confirmed. Since I do not really use Nautilus, but only play around with
automounting, I first thought this was a problem with Utopia. But opening of
_any_ window takes ages (well, about 10 seconds) and usually I get a dialog
saying "this window does not respond. Click okay to forcefully destroy it"
(similar). This is awful and confusing, therefore I upgrade this bug to major.

NB that libgamin0 was automatically installed during an upgrade, but gamin was
not installed. So if there is no other easy solution, gamin should just be
installed as a dependency of some gnome part.

ubuntu-desktop brings in gamin automatically.
