Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

This has happened to me on several machines.

On a clean install of kubuntu feisty with all upgrades, when inserting a video (Insert -> Movie and Sound) it only shows a question mark where the video should be (tested with several formats, ogg, mpg, mov). The slide show doesnt play it either.

On a install of ubuntu feisty the video (when the corresponding restricted packages are installed) plays without any problems.

now this is strange: installing ubuntu-desktop on a kubuntu machine the video's appear in kubuntu impress aswel. I haven't been able to figure out what package is responsible for this.

I believe this is because the movie/sound feature uses gstreamer, I will look into what packages are required for it to work.

I tried installing various gstreamer packages inside of vmware with Kubuntu and it partially worked but kept causing OOo to lock up. I am not sure if this is due to issues with vmware or artsd or something else.

I have found the needed package: gstreamer0.10-plugin-base, please add the dependency.

this change doesn't appear to have been included in the OOo 2.4.1 uploads. Pushing back to 8.04.2.

Also apparently still missing in Intrepid. If this is really just an extra dependency, please include it in the next upload.
