pbuilder-dist crashes also with the same error, maybe it's relative to the last devscripts upload to raring ?

Yes, it's caused by the port of devscripts from Python 2 to Python 3.

I had to install https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/devscripts/2.12.6 as a workaround for now.
