I have the same issue on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS. gnome-system-monitor version is: 3.8.2.1-2ubuntu1.

I cannot install the fixed, 3.8.2.1-2ubuntu4 version package, because of unsatisfied dependencies:
Dependency is not satisfiable: libglibmm-2.4-1c2a (>= 2.40.0), which is dependent on:
Dependency is not satisfiable: libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.42.0) which gives this error:
Breaks existing package 'libglib2.0-bin' dependency libglib2.0-0 (= 2.40.2-0ubuntu1).

Is it possible to request a fix that is compatible with trusty?
Please let me know if you need additional information and where I can find it?
