Can you attach your dpkg log file? I think I know what happened here, but it's still rather unexpected. I want to see which versions of evince and apparmor you had before/after. Thanks!

This bug was fixed in the package apparmor - 2.3.1+1403-0ubuntu14

---------------
apparmor (2.3.1+1403-0ubuntu14) karmic; urgency=low

  * Pull upstream changes for 64bit capabilities (svn 1427, 1437, 1438).
  * Pull upstream changes for pux exec mode (svn 1439).
  * debian/apparmor.init: "find" -name is not brace-aware (LP: #418364).
