The Ubuntu version of the package is significantly newer than debian's.

Removing patch tag since its a debdiff. A few corrections to be made:
1. Changes have to made against the source in the current development version, i.e. Lucid.
2. You've bumped the standards version, I'm not sure why.
3. You need to run update-maintainer script to update the maintainer.
4. This is a trivial change and it would be nice if you could forward the patch upstream.

Thanks for the pointers. I've created a new debdiff against Lucid dealing with the first three points (I hope). How do I forward it upstream? Do I need to raise a bug in Debian? Email the original package maintainer? I've read the wiki page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Patches, but it's not clear on this.
