ibus indicator icon does not respect "show in system tray" preference

I just tried it with current lucid and here the "Show icon in system tray" option switches the indicator on and off.

Hmm, I'll try to reproduce it again when I get home - perhaps it's due
to an incomplete dist-upgrade.

It still happens on Lucid: the icon is there, "Restart" in its menu hides it.

The icon is there whenever I restart the system. When I go into ibus preferences, the "show icon on system tray" is unchecked. Checking it and unchecking it again removes it from system tray. But upon restarting, it is there again.

Note that for me, ibus loads not from the startup applications, but by selecting ibus as the "keyboard input method system" in Language Preferences.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I have the exact same problem as John Kuang (#6) described above, and I made a patch that fixes the problem on my computer. Since I cannot run Unity on my computer I cannot verify that this patch works as intended there.

This is my first ever patch, so any feedback (working/not working) is welcome.

This bug still persist on kubuntu yakkety
