Bug Description

On imx51, I'm running a command like:
spew -P -p random -i 0 -l spewlog.log --raw 300m spewfile

The device I am running this on is a 16G USB stick, formatted ext4.

Part way through the read test, it stops with this error:
Data integrity errors in ~512 byte(s) found during
transfer 372664 at file offset(s):
 190803968 - 190804479
More data integrity errors may exist in other parts of the file.
error: One or more data integrity or I/O errors were encountered during data
transfers. Descriptions of these errors can be found in the logfile
spewlog.pwl.

Also, in dmesg, I see a lot of errors just like this:
usb 1-1.2: reset high speed USB device using fsl-ehci and address 6

Using the same USB stick, I have also tried this on dove and x86_64, so far unable to reproduce anywhere else.

I sum a vote for this bug.

I have problems with USB 2.0 controller and devices that are not 2.0 capable.

My solution was disable USB 2.0 controller from the BIOS and sacrifice performance.

Could be possible to recompile the kernel with ehci support as module and play a little with udev to fix this bug?

Please, check this http://moserei.de/index.php/tag/disable-ehci

Cheers!

Package only present in karmic and lucid. Is this still on the todo list?
