Bug Description

In en_GB, "disc" is the correct word for flat round objects, but "disk" is used when referring to a "hard disk" or "floppy disk".
"disc" should only be used in a computing context when referring to a CD, DVD or MiniDisc.

The following strings are thus translated incorrectly (grep output):
./en-GB/global/nsWebBrowserPersist.properties:launchError=%S could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred.\n\nTry saving to disc first and then opening the file.
./en-GB/global/nsWebBrowserPersist.properties:diskFull=There is not enough room on the disc to save %S.\n\nRemove unnecessary files from the disc and try again, or try saving in a different location.
./en-GB/global/nsWebBrowserPersist.properties:readOnly=%S could not be saved, because the disc, folder, or file is write-protected.\n\nWrite-enable the disc and try again, or try saving in a different location.
./en-GB/global/nsHelperAppDlg.dtd:<!ENTITY saveToDisk.label "Save it to disc">
./en-GB/pipnss/pipnss.properties:ForcedBackup3=To make a copy, click OK. If possible, you should save your backup copy on a floppy disc that you keep in a safe location.
./en-GB/pipnss/pipnss.properties:NSSInitProblem=Could not initialize the browser's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your browser's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disc is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the browser and fix the problem. If you continue to use this browser session, you might see incorrect browser behaviour when accessing security features.

Also, I notice that one of these strings contains "initialize", this should be "initialise" in en_GB.

Thanks for your bug report, I found the strings you've listed in Edgy's mozilla-firefox-locale-all source package.

initialize -> initialise is fixed in Edgy.

Wrt. 'disc', my prefered dictionary says that it's exactly the other way round than you claim:

  http://dict.leo.org/?search=disc
  http://dict.leo.org/?search=disk

i. e. 'disc' is British and 'disk' is American. Firefox' en-GB does not contain 'disk' at all, only 'disc', so this seems to be correct.

Ok, after a short discussion on #ubuntu-devel it seems that my dictionary does not reflect the contemporary usage. Will fix.
