Malone doesn't accept some valid Debian bug tracker URL's

Bug Description

I was trying to add a bug watch for Debian bug 400848. So I tried to mark Also Affects: Distribution Debian, then pasted "http://bugs.debian.org/400848" into the bug tracker URL.

Launchpad claims it doesn't understand the URL. I did not try the URL http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=400848, which I later discovered my initial link redirected to, but Malone should accept both of these URL formats.

The full /cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=... URL is accepted by Launchpad. It'd be nice to accept some of these alternative forms though.

This bug is nearly two months old now. Surely this can't be that hard to fix?

Landed in RF. But for a tease, do you know how many trivial bugs in Ubuntu take longer than 2 months to get fixed? :-)

This either never worked or it has regressed. I will attach a screenshot.

Does it work if you prefix the URL with http://?

I've just had occasion to do this again and yes, it does.

I think that it ought not to require me to type http://. With Debian
bug URLs it's usually quicker to type bugs.debian.org/whatever than to
cut-and-paste the URL.

Ian.

Please file a separate bug requesting that we attempt to prefix bugs.debian.org with http:// -- mainly so the bug numbers in the commit messages make sense; we don't normally reopen bugs unless there is a problem with the original fix that causes it to be rolled back.
