Bug Description

 affects unity-2d

When in an application, for example gedit, accessing the individual menus with alt accelerator keys, such as Alt F for file, do not work. This is with unity-2d 3.8.14.1-0ubuntu1.

To reproduce:
1. Load a simple GTK application, such as gedit.
2. Attempt to press Alt F, Alt E, Alt T etc for the menus. Nothing will happen.

Note that this bug and bug 849732 are duplicates, but both are set up differently for DX tracking.

Just an update. This makes the Alt keys work but adds a bunch of warnings. Making progress. Backing up that progress :-)
