Chinese glyphs (and potentially some other languages) aren't rendered properly in ldm

Bug Description

The login screen shows broken utf-8 symbols instead of chinese characters. It's quite likely due to missing fonts.

To confirm this, please check the output of "locale" and /etc/default/locale. If you get "zh_CN" anywhere except for $LANGUAGE, it is bug 771510, and can be marked as a duplicate.
