Bug Description
the gfire plugin in the repository is does not work anymore due to protocol changes.
The new upstream version 0.9.4 is reported to work.
So for oneiric either the version should be updated or the plugin removed form the archive.
It is a leaf package just providing additional features for pidgin so the regression potential is low.
original report:
The repo has version 0.8.3-0ubuntu1 but that version is too old for at least 2 first of the following reasons. Luckily they have a deb of version 0.9.4-2ubuntu in the downloads over at http://
1) Attempts to connect but fails, without a note.
2) Unable to fetch §xfire_games.xml§.
3) Pidgin crashes later after failing to fetch. Note that, the crash didn't occur each time.
If it's of any use, I have Lubuntu 1104 (Linux rauta-m1530-lubuntu 2.6.38-11-server #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 29 19:20:32 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) on Pidgin/libpurple 2.10.0.
