Bug Description

Oneiric daily build from 6 Oct 2011

When I added Portuguese as a language using the language support application, no spell check dictionaries were installed.
Gedit in particular wouldn't offer to spell check portuguese and I had to manually install the package aspell-pt in order to have gedit spell checking in the language I wanted.

Thanks for helping improve Ubuntu by reporting this issue! I was able to reproduce it.

Martin, is aspell intentionally excluded from data/pkg_depends? (I tried to add it, but it didn't make a difference.)

It's not intentionally left out, and indeed we already install it for some packages which are known to use aspell:

wa::sylpheed:aspell-
wa::abiword:aspell-

so we just need to add gedit. Done in bzr now, thanks!
