Bug Description

After the fix for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flash-kernel/+bug/1055938 I tried to install with the netboot image and the bootloader installation step failed. Going through the syslog, I found:

Sep 25 20:59:57 in-target: Unpacking u-boot-tools (from .../u-boot-tools_2012.04.01-2_armhf.deb) ...
Sep 25 20:59:58 in-target: Processing triggers for man-db ...
Sep 25 21:00:17 in-target: Setting up u-boot-tools (2012.04.01-2) ...
Sep 25 21:00:33 in-target: update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.5.0-211-omap4
Sep 25 21:00:41 in-target: flash-kernel: installing version 3.5.0-211-omap4
Sep 25 21:00:42 in-target: Generating kernel u-boot image...
Sep 25 21:00:44 in-target: done.
Sep 25 21:00:44 in-target: /dev/mmcblk0p1 is not a block device
Sep 25 21:00:57 flash-kernel-installer: error: flash-kernel failed

On my mmc card, I don't see any /dev/mmcblk0p1 so it appears that something along the way removed it.

Attaching syslog and partman logs from the installation, these are the only two logs it left in /var/log

This bug was fixed in the package flash-kernel - 3.0~rc.4ubuntu26

---------------
flash-kernel (3.0~rc.4ubuntu26) quantal-proposed; urgency=low

  * make sure that /dev is bind mounted in /target when running
update-initramfs from flash-kernel-installer, else we do not find the boot
media (this is only a workaround for LP: #1056482 actual fixing of the
netinst environment is needed to fix this properly)

a fix was uploaded to quantal-proposed (flash-kernel 3.0~rc.4ubuntu26)

it was verified in an omap3 qemu netinstall booted with 'apt-setup/proposed=true' as boot parameter
