I'm going to have to do some seed madness to resolve this. I believe that it affects Xubuntu alternates too, but no other images.

This is looking plausible now in the latest dailies (Kubuntu and Xubuntu alternate 20130213.1).

Fix works in the 20130213.1 alternate amd64 image. Installed fine on my test machine.
