Bug Description

When partitioning drive, if you are trying to save a piece of the harddrive and select the type as dontuse, it will crash ubiquuity. If however, you size it as ext3 and finish your other partitions then go back and edit the first partition to use "dontuse", it works without crashing. This machine has a Sata hard drive.

I was unable to reproduce this as described. Can you please run the installer again and attach /var/log/partman and /var/log/syslog to this bug report when it crashes?

Thanks!

I have also experienced this bug, on an IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T43 (model 2668-F5G) which has a SATA HDD. Ubiquity doesn't actually crash, it just seems to get stuck in some kind of infinite loop - the cursor becomes the "busy" indication, and the GUI becomes completely unresponsive. It remained like this for at least ten minutes, at which point I became tired and killed it. I will attach the logfiles you ask for.

Thanks for your report. This appears to be the same as bug 110269.
