In my case it didn't fail with the same error message, but I've fixed it so that it compiles correctly in my PPA for saucy and trusty (at least). The fix can be found here: lp:~saltmakrell/launchpad/fixtiles-osm-gps-map
(it also contains the fix for #1320359).

Is there anyone here who would like to be my sponsor? I've not been through the process before, but I'm willing to learn.

Hi Ruben,
When you think the package update is ready for sponsorship, you just subscribe the ubuntu-sponsors team to the bug as described here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SponsorshipProcess
Someone will eventually review it, and get back to you with any comments.

Latest utopic version (imported from Debian) built fine: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/osm-gps-map/1.0.2-1

Aso, there's no patch to sponsor here, and the associated merge proposal was merged. Closing. Thanks!

That's a different package, and 0.7.3 still cannot be built. Bug needs to be reopened and the problem actually fixed.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for keeping an eye on this, but there is no need to reopen the bug.

I believe that Ruben has fixed the Fail to Build problem for 0.7.3, which was necessary to fix the Missing Tiles problem:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/osm-gps-map/+bug/1320359
The fix has been sponsored and uploaded, and is waiting for the Stable Release Update team to review it. If approved, it will move to trust-proposed, and if tested okay - will be released.

Perhaps you should subscribe yourself to that bug, so you can keep an eye on the problem there. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello Gordonjcp, or anyone else affected,

Accepted osm-gps-map into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/osm-gps-map/0.7.3-3ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!
