Bug Description

When using MigrationAssistance to retrieve Windows XP's (btw, are other OS's going to be supported?) documents, it will automatically place them in ~/Documents, ~/Music, ~/Pictures and ~/Video's, even when the language was set to Dutch and the corresponding folders thus had to be ~/Documenten, ~/Muziek, ~/Afbeeldingen and ~/Video's.

Thanks.

This also happens on my system with intrepid alpha3 candidate image 20080724.1 (amd64) and Windows Vista (32-Bit) as the import source. The result of the imported files looks quite confusing, since there are several duplicate folders in the new home directory (e.g. ~/Dokumente (which is empty) and ~/Documents (which contains the imported documents from Vista)).

Kind regards,
Jan

Yet another reason why localised directory names are a daft idea and should be abolished, IMO.

(That is, the UI should take care of displaying them in a localised fashion without requiring the actual directory name to be localised, with all the pain that comes with that!)

there will not be any further installer updates for intrepid; marking this task 'wontfix'.
