Bug Description

The laptop has no entry for the broadcom wireless card in dmesg so I have to manually install ndisgtk and install the drivers for it that way.

Step 1: Plug in ethernet lead for internet access.
Step 2: Download ndisgtk using g-a-i.
Step 3: Insert usb pendrive with drivers on. Transfer the files across to the system.
Step 4: Use ndisgtk search for the drives where I have placed them.
Step 5: Manually edit /etc/modules to run the ndiswrapper module at boot time.

I will add the output from lspci -vvnn and dmesg below (along with if I can the files for 32 and 64 bit)

This bug was created at the request of pitti.

Thank you for the initial recipe. Can you please try to re-do the steps without ndisgtk? In order to do them programatically they need to be done noninteractively with just command line operations.

I had to blacklist 'ssb' (and maybe b43) in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

blacklist ssb
blacklist b43

And then it worked fine.

Step 4 replacement is simply ndiswrapper -i /path/to/.inf File.

This seems to be covered quite nicely by the Broadcom-STA driver available in Jockey now

Thanks davmor2 for checking. If it works with the STA driver, great. Closing
