Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I wanted to check out the newest openoffice.org and when I went into synaptic package manager to install it i got the errror
"Depends: openoffice.org-writer2latex but it is not installable"

I looked for this package but it does not exist
Is this an error or has that package just not been built yet?

i have not noticed the same issue. I cannot install the openoffice.org meta package due to the above noted dependency. However, individual components can be installed such as openoffice.org-calc

I think Geoff123's issue is in fact the same as Brian Curtis's. openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 depends on openoffice-writer2latex and there is no available package of openoffice-writer2latex in the repositories. It sounds like Brian Curtis was referring to the meta package as well.

openoffice.org-writer2latex is now available in universe; it will need to be moved to main (probably requiring a main inclusion report to be written) before this bug is resolved.

In fact, writer2latex is just a newer version of something already in the openoffice.org source package, so it doesn't need a main inclusion report. I've promoted it; it should appear in main within an hour or two.
