Bug Description

On Jaunty when edubuntu-desktop is installed, running ltsp-build-client tries to install usplash-theme-edubuntu that does no longer exist. Making the chroot building process to fail.

The fix is to check for the existence of the package on the server before trying to install it in the chroot.

This bug can either be fixed by adding a patching system and including the attached patch or use a new release of LTSP that'll include that exact same fix and a typo fix (see full upstream diff attached).

If the second case is to be preferred (I prefer it both from an upstream and a maintainer point of view), please consider this bug a Freeze Exception request for LTSP.

The bug is fixed with ltsp_5.1.64-0ubuntu8 that I just uploaded.
Though the fix was done in .diff.gz and so isn't in the BZR branch.

I tagged a new 5.1.65 release upstream containing the diff as previously attached and would still like to get it in Jaunty.
Please consider the bug as a Freeze Exception request to get that fix properly in Jaunty.

It seems that this was fixed in

ltsp (5.1.64-0ubuntu8) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Fix *ubuntu-usplash-theme installation breaking ltsp-build-client when
    creating an edubuntu LTSP chroot.
    (Fix in .diff.gz, freeze exception filed to get it from upstream)

The other two fixes in the recent debdiffs (.pot typo and upstream URL fix) look ok, but aren't critical for beta. Please get them uploaded to the queue, then we can decide whether it can still slip in.
