Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

Jaunty beta.

The location name in the clock applet preferences are selected with an auto completion list, which knows only english names of locations.

My town is listed as Genoa, Italy (in english), and if I write Genova I won't ever find it. I was entering Genova, and saving location name => result: no wheather.

It isn't possible that an italian user must know english in order to see his/her town wheather.

The location list must be localized according to default language.

The patch added in intrepid to use gettext has some issues and probably never worked, it relies on HAVE_DGETTEXT to be defined but that's the case nowhere and it replaces an xml variable by a string and try xmlfree on it which leaks the first one and lead to a crash. The patch drops the HAVE_DGETTEXT requirement since that's an ubuntu change and the build system is already changed to use that feature during the build and do gettext using contexts when required, that seems to work correctly there but a review of the changes would be welcome

I have jaunty-proposed enabled, from the principal server, but I don't see the libgweather update. How much does it take to reach the archives I download with aptitude update?

Installed libgweather1 2.26.1-0ubuntu2 from jaunty-proposed, apparently it work: Genova, Milano, Torino, Roma, are in Italian (correct). Although (weird) Firenze doesn't work, Florence works instead, but it looks like a fault in translating the city names

The time zone shown in the preferences' 2nd tab is still in english: I have Europa/Rome instead of Europa/Roma

Besides that, Florence still is in english, it should be Firenze
