Bug Description

Hi,

I tried to install Flight 7 with following hardware:

* Abit VP motherboard with dual P3 processors
* Maxtor 133 IDE card (promise drivers works)
* two 3com cards (uses 3c59x driver)
* SB Live

Installer also said that there is FireWire adapter found from the system,
although the computer doesn't have any FireWire adapters...

Only thing that the installer found was the Radeon 9200SE in AGP slot.

Breezy 5.1 found all the hardware without problems.

Were you using the text-mode installer or the live CD installer? Simon assigned it to the latter, but that doesn't sound right for this bug.

Please attach the output of 'lspci' and 'lspci -n' on your system. Thanks.

Anyways, I believe that the problem is reated to acpi. I didn't even manage to get breezy to install, before I set acpi=off flag for the installer.

However, Breezy did find all the hardware also without the flag. Problems with Breezy started during the partitioning. After installing Breezy with acpi=off flag everything worked fine :)

I tried both, the live cd installer and the text mode installer of Dapper.

OK, I think this must be a kernel bug then.

Is that lspci output from breezy or dapper?

What would be more interesting is a dmesg output from dapper, specifically from the dapper final (including kernel updates).

I can't check it anymore, because I'm now working in Mexico for a year and
my server is offline in Finland :) I have to check after I get back, with
latest ubuntu version if the problem still exists.

Why do you think this bug can be closed?

Because elhigu has said he can't currently reproduce the bug because he's living away. If the problem persists when he's back he can reopen it, as can anyone else with the same problem.

But that's just me.
