eclipse*-gcj packages have unsatisfiable version dependencies in karmic

libswt3.2-gtk-gcj
libswt3.2-gtk-java
libswt3.2-gtk-jni

if there are other binaries left for eclipse-3.2 on archs other than i386, amd64, lpia, powerpc, please remove these as well.

Ok, I have converted your bug report into a binary package removal request. The new 3.5.1 eclipse source package does not build these files.

eclipse-platform-gcj has eclipse-pydev as rdepends
eclipse-sdk has springide as rdepends

eclipse-sdk was merged into eclipse-platform. Therefore springide should depend on eclipse-platform instead.

If a binary isn't built from source then they are known as "NBS" and will appear
at

  http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/NBS/

where they will be periodically removed if nothing depends on them. Therefore
all you need to do in general is fix things so that the files under there are
empty.

In this case there are the remaining dependencies that Benjamin identified,
please make uploads for those.

There are also dependencies because the latest eclipse doesn't build on all
architectures, either that needs to be fixed, or we need to remove eclipse from
those architectures entirely.

Currently only i386, amd64, lpia, and powerpc are supported. The other archs are not supported and will not be supported for karmic. So please remove eclipse entirely from armel, ia64, and sparc in karmic.

eclipse-sdk was built as a dummy package in jaunty; we can always re-add that. (attempt at a debdiff attached)

And eclipse-pydev is really outdated ( bug 135556 ) and FTBFS right now ( bug 450031 ), so it might be best to just remove that, too.

Please remove following source packages:
eclipse-pydev (outdated, does not work with eclipse 3.5.1)
springide (outdated, will probably not work with eclipse 3.5.1)
eclipse on armel, ia64, and sparc (will not be supported in karmic)

@dn: I am against adding eclipse-sdk. There is already the meta package eclipse for pulling the complete eclipse sdk.

eclipse-pydev and springide have both no rdepends.
