Cesare, I think you miss a Conflict s / Replaces with sdlmame << 0.136 to make the upgrade work.

Thanks,
Fabrice

Yes, I've been suggested to change the Replaces: dependency with Breaks: and I guess this is wrong. ;)

Also, I'm getting back with archs restriction, as i386 and amd64 are the only platforms currently supported upstream. I removed overrides specific to other archs as well.

I'll try a build on MAME PPA, if anything is OK, I'll attach the new .debian.tar.gz.

Thanks,
Cesare.

Here's the new debian.tar.gz.

I assume 0.138-0ubuntu1 is already in maverick (even if it's not listed on http://packages.ubuntu.com),
so I've bumped revision to 0ubuntu2. If this is does not apply, please edit changelog before uploading.

Changes included:
1. Fixed dependencies in debian/control to manage package renaming correctly
2. Got rid of mame.dirs and mame-tools.dirs, also removed any reference but /etc/ctrlr
 in mame-common.dirs (all redundant according to Ubuntu packaging guide).

Thanks!
Cesare.

Hi,

You are right: you have to increase the version number as the previous one already exists in the archive.

I updated the changelog to revert changes you made to previous entry, and added the copyright conversion.
I also reverted the maintainer change in debian/control, and documented all the changes you did. Please remember to do so next time.
Also, for sponsorship for an update to an existing package, you need to attach a debdiff between previous version and the one you want to get sponsored :-)

Uploaded anyway.

Thanks,Fabrice

This bug was fixed in the package mame - 0.138-0ubuntu2

---------------
mame (0.138-0ubuntu2) maverick; urgency=low

  [ Cesare Falco ]
  * debian/control:
    - Fixed renaming/replacing deps (LP: #605337)
    - Limit architecture to i386 and amd64
  * Removed redundancies in debian/*.dirs
  * debian/copyright: converted to DEP-5 format
  * debian/rules:
    - Deleted hppa, ia64, spac and powerpc as they are not supported upstream
    - Modified the get-orig-source target to generate the tarball in the root
      directory and not in the parent directory

  [ Fabrice Coutadeur ]
  * debian/control: bump Standards-version to 3.9.0. No changes required.
