Looks like you manually removed (or moved) the /etc/apache2/mods-available/reqtimeout.load file. This is supposed to be handled through a2enmod. Recreating that file (or purging and reinstalling apache2) should work around this error.

We should guard for that case by adding a || true and/or a slightly more precise versioning in apache2.2-common.postinst.

This happened to me, too, and I certainly have never manually removed the reqtimeout.load file - it must have been something aptitude did in some previous upgrade stage. However, copying reqtimeout.* from /etc/apache2.orig/mods-available to /etc/apache2/mods-available allowed me to continue upgrading apache2-common.

HTH.

Agreed with David, I haven't moved or deleted the file, yet it disappeared. For some reason I don't have the /etc/apache2.orig/ directory on my system so I manually recreated /etc/apache2/mods-available/reqtimeout.load with this content:

LoadModule reqtimeout_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_reqtimeout.so

The upgrade went on normally after that.
