Switched Wait For Vertical Refresh to On unless specified by software and tried Always On in latest version of CCC software. No effect.

Wait for vertical refresh switched to "Always On" and I ran exe with no OpenGL2 - still flickers but flicker rate decreased. Still unusable, but I can look at the screen now.

Setting Catalyst AI to Advanced and run No OpenGL2 - no change.

Apply Triple buffering on OpenGL Settings and run exe as normal - no effect.

The same problem with Win7 64-bit and ATI HD5650.
In windowed mode everything works fine, so it looks like the problem is related to full-screen mode, only.

Hi, I have resolved the same problem by using the "Disable desktop composition" mode (translated from "Désactiver la composition du Bureau") in the compatibility setup in the properties of "Stellarium.exe"

But recently I detected that after resolving the problem by disabling desktop composition, the windows logo keyboard key doesn't work (Bug #1014281).

I usually use that key to switch to other programs after taking screenshots for Stellerium screens (by pressing print screen or alt+print screen ).

I have same problem with Stellarium version 0.11.4-win32.

I'm using an Acer Aspire one (D270-1679) running Windows 7.

Changing max fps does nothing. Changing desktop composition (as described above) does nothing.

After posting above, I was able to fix the problem by downloading and installing test build 0.11.4 from
https://launchpad.net/stellarium/+download

and then launching Stellarium from the SECOND shortcut in the Start menu ("Stellarium (no OpenGL2)"), NOT the shortcut displayed on the desktop.

Many many thanks to Bogdan Marinov (daggerstab). See "Object information display failure" at

I have just tried the 3rd RC of Version 12 on my HP Mini 10.1 to see if the screen flickering has ceased and it has not.

Spec of my HP Mini is
CPU and Memory:Intel Atom N2600.Processor speed 1.6GHz.1GB DDR3 RAM.
320GB SATA hard drive.
Display features:10.1in display.Resolution 1024 x 600 pixels.Graphics:Shared graphics.Intel GMA 3150 graphics card.Graphics card memory 218MB.
Interfaces and connectivity:3 USB ports.B/g/n wireless/WiFi enabled.Multi-media features:0.3MP built-in webcam

I am running 32bit Win 7 Premium

When Stellarium is run in normal mode (OpenGL) it does not run at all, just the splash screen then a complete black page.

When Stellarium is run in safe mode (Non OpenGL) it loads up but is very slow.
The menus when opened become very slow and unresponsive at times.
The settings windows when opened up become unable to use and just sit there whilst everything flashes/flickers

I have attached a screen print to show what the screen looks like when flashing/flickering.
