Bug Description
Crashed when trying to install Ubuntu 6.10. it gave this error to report. I was trying to install ubuntu as dual boot (dos & winxp already installed). not sure if i selected grub to load on the right drive. First time i left as default (hd0) and it completely crashed. Then set as (hda5) winxp partition. Have installed Debian before so pc should be compatible.

"(hda5)" isn't legal GRUB device name syntax. Use either "/dev/hda5" or "(hd0,4)". The lack of validation is also bug 90575.
