LAVA is the name that covers Linaro's automated validation efforts.

See the sub-project list on the right for details about particular parts of LAVA.
Most notable components are:

1) LAVA Test (formerly known as Abrek) is the test runner framework. It is on traditional Linux images -- Android is tested differently.

2) LAVA Dispatcher is responsible for automating board deployment and looking after the test process, whatever the test framework is (could be LAVA Test or the Android equivalent).

3) LAVA Dashboard (formerly known as Launch Control) is the web front-end that displays test results, reports and other data. It also has a web API for submitting test results. The dashboard is often deployed alongside the LAVA Scheduler (which is a separate project).

4) LAVA Scheduler is the web front-end for scheduling test jobs. It has a web API for submitting test jobs.

5) LAVA Server is mostly invisible but is responsible for hosting server-side web applications such as LAVA Dashboard and LAVA Scheduler. It implements the XML-RPC API, authentication, sign-in and other common services.
