Based on the comments on bug 930706 https://bugs.launchpad.net/fluidity/+bug/930706 there appear to be several instances of separate NetCDF reading code that should be rationalised into a single reader.

A plugin to run fluidity
for Spud
There should be an flml button which runs fluidity. It should pop up a dialog to specify number of processes and should take care of any required decomping and/or periodising.
