Bug Description

This could actually be a Ubuntu Website bug, but when I click the release notes link from the installer, I get a web browser opened to www.ubuntu.com. It's equally possible that it could be trying to open http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes?os=ubuntu&ver=12.10&lang=en which also gets quickly redirected to www.ubuntu.com.

The URL is taken from the .disk/release_notes_url from the ISO image.
Then language is substituted into it.
Currently (and have been for the whole cycle) the URLs redirect to ubuntu.com homepage for 12.10 version.
Changing the version to 12.04 redirects to the correct release notes.
You can test the current URL:
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes?os=ubuntu&ver=12.10&lang=en

If it is time to make the link work, please contact the ubuntu website team to add a new symlink.

Which means it's a website bug and should be reassigned there, not just marked invalid. Done.

The redirect should currently point to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QuantalQuetzal/TechnicalOverview for 12.10.

Hi, this has been published to staging, but unfortunately the site is frozen until release day so it will go live when we publish the rest of the site updates.

Also the armhf+omap4 image has this same problem (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20121211/raring-desktop-armhf+omap4.img).

There is no bug here. If lubuntu/xubuntu/kubuntu etc. websites do not activate the URLs, the redirect by default takes people to www.ubuntu.com instead of a 404 error page.

For development release, this release notes is only activated at release time e.g. for 13.10 if would be on 17th of October 2013. Until then it is expected for release notes link to redirect / point at www.ubuntu.com instead.

Please stop reporting / linking this bug in the ISO tracker =) are there somewhere instructions to test this with wrong results listed for in-development releases?
