I think this is sru-worthy. The problem is that debconf was removed in 1.03-23 but it is still called in the postrm.
This is simply solved by removing this call (see attached debdiff).
The TEST CASE is very simple:
1) Install current wmsun in hardy (1.03-25).
2) Try to purge it. Your package manager will fail.
3) Install the version from -proposed.
4) Purge. It should now succeed.
Subscribing motu-sru to require an ack.
