Thanks, i still don't know how (or even if i can) file bugs upstream. I think noobs shouldn't be able to inundate problems upstream until we are able to clarify the specific problem and how ro replicate it (or when it happens specifically). In the meantime there's plenty answers to be found here and the volunteers seem pretty good at getting round to answering fairly quickly. Thanks all :)

Hello Tom,

information on forwarding bugs upstream can be found here at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToTriage#Forwarding%20upstream .So for the gnome bug tracker that would be https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME . Everyone can file bugs upstream because this is how community works; If someone does wrong the bug will be closed or corrected with a comment and everythings fine ;).

Ahh, thanks. Thats what the 'Remote bug watches' is about. I prefer the colours in Launchpad. Blue & grey make me feel cold and upset me. lol

Good luck and thanks :)

I asked in #launchpad about the problem with bugwatches and I was told that it is okay to set the status manually in this case, because the bug is fixed upstream. I am subscribed to the upstream bug and if they set it to "fix released" I will mirror those changes here.

totem (2.25.3-0ubuntu1) jaunty; urgency=low

  * New upstream version:
   Interface changes: (LP: #303045)
    - Make the left-click seek directly to the destination
    - Hide colour balance sliders that aren't available (LP: #282073)
    - Make modifiers work as expected when drag'n'dropping files
    - Use "Movie Player" everywhere in the interface
    - Add an arrow to the sidebar button (LP: #260534)
    - Convert British English messages to American English
    - Show the fullscreen popups when seeking with the keyboard (LP: #48751)
    - Better behaviour when changing the type of playlist to be saved
    - Fix playlist problems when removing an file that was deleted
      from the filesystem
   Subtitle handling:
    - Add plugin to download text subtitles from OpenSubtitles.org
    - Allow selecting a text subtitle from the View menu, or by dropping
      the file onto the video widget (LP: #160518)
    - Add the subtitle and languages menus to the fullscreen popup
   Browser plugin:
    - Remove the "basic" web browser plugin, we now use the same
      API as VideoLAN for our default plugin
    - Fix relativbzre paths not resolving in some cases

   Plugins:
    - Add Jamendo plugin

  * debian/control.in:

@Pedro : I didn't remove it.
Just force the status from "fix commited" to "fix released" for upstream as they seem to be a bug in auto updating it (it was still mark has being "new" even if the real status is "Status: RESOLVED" upstream).
