Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

Ubuntu Jaunty alpha 6

1. Advance to the "Who are you?" step of the installer.
2. Enter a password of fewer than eight characters.
3. Choose "Forward".
4. In the "Use weak password?" alert, choose "Go Back".

What actually happens:
* The second password field is focused, with none of the password selected.
* An error message appears next to the password field, "You entered an empty password, which is not allowed", which is completely untrue.

What should happen:
* The first password field is focused, with the whole password selected.
* No extra error message should appear.

This is half fixed in ubiquity 1.11.17 by Colin's fix to the user-setup component (r3088) which will no longer show an empty password warning after the weak password dialog.

This bug was fixed in the package ubiquity - 1.11.19

---------------
ubiquity (1.11.19) jaunty; urgency=low

  [ Colin Watson ]
  * Update translations from Launchpad.
  * Tighten frontend dependencies on ubiquity to prevent problems when one
    architecture is out of sync.

  [ Evan Dandrea ]
  * Only create one virtual desktop when in only-ubiquity mode
    (LP: #343451, LP: #321212).
  * When the user selects "go back" in response to the weak password dialog,
select the text in the first password entry (LP: #344402).
  * Add partman/unmount_active to the list of questions that mean "do you want
to continue?" in the partman component.
  * Automatic update of included source packages: partman-base
    129ubuntu3, partman-partitioning 64ubuntu6, user-setup 1.23ubuntu15.

  [ Jonathan Riddell ]
  * turn on wordwrap for long string in gui/qt/liveinstaller.ui
