Update (3 Nov 2022): Latest mpv-mpris 0.9 (use MPRIS for mpv control, ie. with playerctl) now available (also playerctl 2.4.1 for pre-Jammy series). Update (13 Aug 2022): Builds are now with FFmpeg >= 5.1 for new supported features (JPEG-XL and AVChannelLayout).

Update to the latest upstream version before filing issue with me or at mpv github. *Note - mpv.conf is the new default for a config file. Best, new default location is ~/.config/mpv/ using mpv.conf. *New -. The upstream default is idle=once, I've set these builds to idle=yes.

Bug Description. mpv is set as the default video player. When double clicking on a video file in either Nautilus or Nemo the action fails with the following error: In the past this same action has resulted in mpv opening and playing the video. To recreate this error I open a file manager and double click a video file.

After some update (unfortunately I'm not sure what) if I try to play a videofile (e.g. mpv movie.mkv) I get this error: libGL error: failed to open drm device: Permission denied. I think from this message is not very clear why is that. I figured out I was not in "video" group: "id user_name".

gaupol Suggests mpv but does not Depend on it. However, if you install gaupol without also installing mpv, gaupol is unable to play videos. If you attempt to do so, it displays a dialogue saying "/bin/sh: mpv not found", which is going to baffle the users.

This PPA contains most recent MPV for 22.04 only so far. But instead of building with system FFmpeg, the package here is built with FFmpeg 6.0 in bundle. Features so far include: with FFmpeg 6.0 in bundle. enable svt-av1 encoder/decoder.

I use the snap version of Smplayer on Ubuntu 21.10 (because the apt-installed mpv missed some libs). It seems to work correctly but I got an cli error message: "/usr/share/ libdrm/ amdgpu. ids: No such file or directory"

Bug Description. Since upgrading to 21.04 with wayland, mpv has been issuing warnings (suggesting X session) but performing without any problem, including with mp4 files. Until recently. Some better or fixed multimedia packages for Xenial. For mpv look here-. https://launchpad.net/~mc3man/+archive/ubuntu/mpv-tests. FFmpeg here is now a recent release, built as shared. Only sources built off of it will using the shared libs.
