Bug Description

On Ubuntu desktop wubi install dated 20090305.1 Jockey-gtk refuses to download the driver.

Following tseliot's advice I restarted the backend with debug log enabled.

With this in place Jockey-gtk got past the point it was stalling at and crashed at 80% instead.

The resulting log is below.

Please note that jockey now produces a log by default in /var/log/jockey.log, so you don't need to restart the backend.

It seems it's hanging on installing mandb. Can you please replicate the situation until it hangs, and give me the output of "ps aux"? I suspect that there might be a hanging debconf process or hung preinst or something such.

Are you sure that this really reproduced the bug? Unlike in your first test, this jockey.log doesn't hang in package installation. Instead, this log says "Package nvidia-glx-180 does not exist, aborting", which is most likely because apt-get update needs to run once on a freshly installed system.

This log is the one in var/log/jockey.log

The original one was the one where I restarted the backend. With the backend restarted and debugging in place to get a log that was the result. It went further through the driver install and locked up at 80%. But at the time it was the only way to get a log.

The last log is the one that shows up the original issue which is the window for download opens up after you use policykit and then jockey just stops.

Hope that was well enough explained.

Well, I just clicked activate again, and jockey said that it is removing the driver, and it went through 2 progress bars. Then I clicked activate again and the driver supposedly installed. I won't know until I restart if it actually worked, though.

OOOPS--

I had two tabs open in Firefox with two different bugs, so I don't know how applicable my previous comments were.
