"In Progress" does not show download status

I hope this can get added soon... I love the software center, but it has too many bugs/problems/limitations still. I really don't understand why it doesn't show the download rate and ETA, both those things are so simple. Early thanks to the people with the programming knowledge to fix this!

I've narrowed this bug report to cover just the download status (e.g. "3.1 MB of 4.9 MB"), because that's what the specification covers. If you'd like download rate to be included too, please report that as a separate bug; it would be a fair amount of separate work. Thanks.
