DOSBox emulates a full x86 PC with DOS. It emulates many video cards (CGA/EGA/VGA/Tandy/Hercules) and sound cards (SoundBlaster, Gravis Ultrasound) for excellent compatibility with older games. Its main use is to run old DOS games on platforms which don't have DOS (Windows 2000/XP/Linux/FreeBSD/Mac OS X).
