16.04 Cannot play China DVD ⇒ trunk

Ubuntu will not play any original DVD bought in China. I have Ubuntu 16.04, with libdvd-pkg, all lib, restricteds, regionset installed; and the regionset is "6" correct for China. I can play dvd original and copies from other countries. But Ubuntu cannot read any dvd cut in China. [fyi, a Macbook bought in China with Chinese o/s and apps installed will in fact play the dvd with no troubles] Can anyone solve this please?
