bug #616321 is a request to use an evince depends, not sure that should be assigned to this team though since language-selector is mostly community maintained now

That would pull it into the CDs, though. It's not really required for
non-CJK languages, so I hoped to avoid that and instead install it on
demand.

It's not just required for CJK documents. I have come across other bug reports with incomplete/incorrect text rendering which were fixed by installing poppler data. I can't find any of them at the moment, presumably because they are marked Fix Released.

I probably closed some of them myself. How can I view bugs which I am subscribed to but have marked Fix Released?

Thanks.

See bug #532282 and bug #546456 . bug #502084 contains the output of pdffonts for this document before and after installing poppler-data.

Also see bug #458288 - I guess technically they are CJK fonts, but they don't _look_ like they are. Doesn't this mean that an approach based on the system language wouldn't always work?

I think there were some more, but I haven't found them yet.

package names. Update test cases accordingly.
  * data/pkg_depends: Add poppler-data for Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and

Dear all,
Looks like the fix is not working for me : on Ubuntu 11.04, updated, French system, I fully installed Japanese via language-selector, restarted the pc and restarted language-selector to finish installing language packages, and still poppler-data is not installed. (so I can't read some Japanese PDF)
