Bug Description

I have a notebook that possessed a model sound card ALC883 and that is not work with the ALSA, barely work with in the old way OSS-mixer. The modules of the kernel are correctly configured (snd-hda-intel), but even so the gnome-manager-volume does not show of correct form the identification of the sound card, persistence in show a Realtek ALC883 in the way OSS. All the application that use the sound in the way ALSA do not function correctly, as by example the Skype. Summarizing, the sound card work, but barely with the layer OSS and not with the ALSA.

The necessary patches have already been backported to Dapper and Edgy but have yet to be applied. They likely will not be applied to Edgy's initial release kernel, either, due to the proximity of the release (less than a week).

My sound also does not work with ALC260/snd-hda-intel (Fujitsu S6240). It worked fine under Breezy but also failed under Dapper.
